Your first visit
Your first visit is our opportunity to learn more about you so we can design the best treatment plan to fit your needs. You will receive a comprehensive exam that includes both tooth and perio charting, oral cancer screening and digital radiographs. We look forward to welcoming you into our dental family!

What to expect
As a new patient, you will have two appointments. Your first appointment will be with Dr. Wesley Smith and his assistants. He will discuss your medical history, past dental experiences, reasons for coming to see us, and goals for your smile. Then, all necessary radiographic images will be taken before Dr. Smith thoroughly examines your teeth, gums, and jaw. We will perform a comprehensive exam that includes an examination of restorations, missing teeth, condition of teeth, periodontal charting and an oral cancer screening. We want to ensure that you receive a thorough consultation and have plenty of time to ask our staff any questions you may have. This appointment is approximately one hour.
We will discuss your periodontal (gum) health and together, develop a complete treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain a smile that will maximize your personal health and appearance.
Your next visit typically will be in the hygiene department. If you have a healthy mouth and time permits we will try to accommodate you with a dental cleaning on the same day as your initial examination. But, most times you will return for your cleaning appointment on another day.
